A three-step path from idea to timeline.

The goal is not to replace your folders. It is to remove them from the creative decision loop.

01

Add the folders you already use

Keep packs on internal drives, external SSDs, or wherever they live today. Sample watches selected roots and notices new files automatically.

02

Search the way you remember sound

Try “dusty upright piano, intimate, not too bright” instead of remembering which vendor named a file PIA_Am_072_04.wav.

03

Drop the result into the session

Preview in context, refine by BPM, key, instrument, or sonic character, then drag or copy the audio into Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Pro Tools, or another DAW.

Real product, visible workflow

Search more than filenames.

Filename search works when a pack author and your brain use the same vocabulary. Semantic search listens to the audio and retrieves by musical meaning—even when the filename says nothing useful.

Put a number on folder friction.

“Saves time” is vague. This model lets you use your own session frequency and retrieval baseline.

recovered per year—about 1.2 hours per week, worth an estimated $2,042 of studio time.

Planning model, not a product-performance guarantee. It assumes 50 active weeks and uses only the values you enter. Time a normal session to replace the defaults with your own baseline.

Built around Mac realities.

No plugin-format matrix to manage. No cloud upload queue. No need to move or rename the files your DAW projects already reference.

Apple Silicon-native workload

Sample requires Apple Silicon and uses the Mac for local DSP metadata, audio embeddings, search, and its SQLite catalog. Minimum: macOS 12, 8 GB RAM, and 4 GB free disk space; 16 GB RAM is recommended.

Works beside every DAW

A standalone browser avoids host compatibility issues. Drag audio into any DAW, copy it, reveal it in Finder, or keep Sample on a second display while the main session stays focused.

Files stay where they are

Sample stores analysis separately and references original paths. Removing a watched folder does not delete the audio. Re-adding a known file can reuse preserved analysis by content hash.

Use it after the Wi-Fi disappears

Internet is needed for activation and updates. Once activated, core browsing, analysis, and search continue locally—useful in writing rooms, flights, stages, and studios with restricted networks.
